In times of growing expectations for transparency, accountability, and responsible governance, business integrity is a key factor for economic growth, attracting investment, and building trust in institutions. It is not merely a matter of legal compliance, but of establishing a culture of ethical conduct, responsibility, and respect for the public interest.
Corruption represents one of the most serious challenges to the development of society and the economy. Its consequences are far-reaching – from financial losses, through the deterioration of institutional quality, to the reduction of competitiveness and citizens’ trust. Preventing corruption requires a systemic approach and the active involvement of all social actors.
Business integrity is an important foundation in the fight against corruption and a path toward building a fair, predictable, and sustainable society.
These topics were at the centre of the conference “Strengthening Business Integrity Through Public–Private Cooperation”, organized by M6 Educational Centre, the French Anticorruption Fund and the French Embassy in North Macedonia, held on 25 June 2026 in Skopje.
The event brought together representatives of the public sector, business community, civil society, academia, and international organizations to discuss transparency, accountability, compliance, anti-corruption measures, and practical approaches to strengthening business integrity.
