New Horizons for Modern Business Leaders at M6 Conference: “Neuroscience and the Future of Leadership”

14 August 2026

On 18 June 2025, M6 Educational Centre hosted the conference “Decisions, Decisions: Neuroscience and the Future of Leadership”, bringing together what is rarely found in a single event—cutting-edge scientific insights and their practical application for the future of business.

The conference was held as part of “Step Forward”, M6 Educational Centre’s platform for positive social transformation. Through expert-led education, knowledge sharing, and advisory initiatives, the platform addresses key issues affecting the development of individuals, organizations, and society, while contributing practical solutions to the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

The event brought together more than 100 experts in the fields of neuroleadership, healthcare, consulting, business, and academia, including doctors, consultants, corporate professionals, and students. By connecting the worlds of neuroscience, personal and organizational development, and modern leadership, the conference featured keynote speeches and presentations by international experts and representatives from leading companies. Together, they explored some of the most pressing questions facing today’s leaders: How does the human brain think? How are decisions made under stress and uncertainty? And what does it truly mean to lead people through understanding rather than authority?

The conference’s keynote speaker was Dr. Nikolaos Dimitriadis, a renowned scientist, university professor, and Director of the EY Applied Neuroscience Lab, widely recognized as one of the pioneers in applying neuroscience to modern leadership and marketing. In his inspiring keynote address, Dr. Dimitriadis introduced the central premise that the human brain—the most complex organ in the body—is the primary driver of decision-making. He emphasized that effective leadership must be grounded in a deep understanding of the neurological processes that shape human thinking, emotions, and behavior. Drawing on the latest research and real-world business applications, Dr. Dimitriadis highlighted how neuroscience is already being used by leading organizations to enhance leadership effectiveness, human resource management, employee well-being, and workplace safety. Through a combination of scientific evidence and practical case studies, he underscored the importance of adopting a neuroscience-informed approach to leadership—one that is more intentional, resilient in the face of stress and uncertainty, and better aligned with the psychological and emotional needs of people.

Among the conference’s distinguished speakers was Vesna Kuzmanovikj, founder of the Macedonian company IMPALA Research, who presented her pioneering approach to understanding unconscious human responses through a DIY neuromarketing platform. The first platform of its kind in the region, it combines advanced eye-tracking technology with biometric tools to accurately measure visual attention, emotional responses, and physiological reactions. This innovative solution provides a deeper, science-based understanding of human behavior, offering valuable insights that support more informed decision-making in management, marketing, and leadership.

At the conference, Prof. Ezheni Brzovska, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Economics, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, presented her research exploring the intersection of neuroscience and contemporary marketing strategies. Her presentation sparked an engaging discussion on how neuroscience and consumers’ visual behavior should be integrated into the future of retail. The research highlighted the importance of building customer experiences and marketing strategies based on a deeper understanding of human perception and decision-making.

As part of the conference’s practical programme, Natasha Ivanovska and Biljana Velevska, experts in emotional intelligence, led an interactive session focused on developing emotional intelligence in leadership. Through practical exercises and discussion, they explored how social signals influence team productivity, collaboration, and psychological safety, emphasizing the critical role emotional intelligence plays in creating high-performing and resilient teams.

The conference concluded with a series of practical case studies showcasing how Macedonian companies have successfully integrated neuroscience-based tools and approaches into their day-to-day operations. These real-world examples demonstrated the practical value of neuroscience in enhancing leadership, improving organizational performance, and supporting more effective business decision-making.

“Tikveš” Winery presented a case study demonstrating how it applied neuromarketing methodologies in the redesign of its Alexandria Premium Cuvée product line. By analyzing consumers’ emotional and visual responses, the company identified the packaging design that resonated most strongly with its target audience. The insights gained from the research enabled Tikveš to strengthen its brand connection with consumers and enhance the product’s market recognition.

“Telma TV” showcased how it used neuroscience-based analysis of audience responses to identify viewers’ preferences and engagement patterns. The insights generated from this research were applied to optimize the television programming schedule and media placement strategy, enabling more effective audience targeting and stronger media positioning.

The conference concluded with a powerful message: the future of leadership and business lies in a deeper understanding of the human mind. Surrounded by knowledge, shared experiences, and forward-thinking ideas, participants left the event with a renewed perspective—that an organization’s greatest assets are not its machines, processes, or technologies, but its people and their cognitive and emotional potential. The event reinforced the importance of embracing human-centered leadership, where scientific understanding, emotional intelligence, and continuous learning become the foundation for building resilient organizations capable of thriving in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
